The #1 question I get about bucket drumming is : "What stuff do I need?" The infographic below shows you: what to buy, how much it'll cost, and what to do with it once you've bought it. Stay tuned for an upcoming post about where and how to get buckets on the cheap.

I'm very glad I have discovered bucket drumming. I've been playing regular drums for over 10 years and bucket drumming is a brand new concept to me. Would it be possible to elaborate on the way in which you make drumsticks for bucket drumming?

Thanks so much, looking forward to delving more into the world of bucket drumming.

Hi Justin,

You can use a lot of different types of sticks, when I teach kids I usually use 1/2" dowels cut to 12 inch lengths and then wrapped in duct tape. I made a video how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPD1kfAqNRY

If I were playing solo I'd use something like 5A drumsticks.
